More dishes, more flushes, and more shower time concerts.

After 50 years of encores, Mr. Rooter Plumbing Services Professionals are equipped to handle anything.

We’re your neighbor you can call anytime.

And we’ll be there. Because we’ve been here all along.

Vo:

Husband: Honey, you wanna come out? I haven’t seen you since Glass Doctor installed our custom shower enclosure.

Wife: No thanks!

Husband: Well, you can’t keep eating breakfast in the shower, and laminating your magazines is getting expensive. You remember we have guests coming over tonight, right?

Wife: Oh, I’m sure they’d love to see the shower!

Husband: It’s our neighbors, and I highly doubt they want to be hanging out in our bathroom.

Man: A shower so good, you’ll never want to leave. Visit GlassDoctor.com today and schedule an appointment online.

The text below is a script I wrote for Mr. Electric, a Neighborly company, for their YouTube ads we produced in-house. We wanted a character who focused on a new customer demographic, DIY working moms who find themselves needing Mr. Electric service professionals.

Renovation Rosie

This spot looks and feels like the pure unaltered chaos of being a super mom. Rosie, a single mother is looking to make a side hustle out of doing DIY-style YouTube videos filmed around her bustling house, with her kids helping as camera people. She is a strong, independent, albeit a little exhausted woman excited to start dedicating herself to something that’s just for her.

SFX: Kids yelling, Rosie trying to talk over them.

Cut to Rosie standing in her guest bedroom. Her oldest is filming, so it’s a down angle shot because he’s so tall. Rosie kicks a few toys out of her way, fixes the lamp shade/ tipped over picture frame, then addresses the camera.

Rosie: Hi everybody, Rosie here. Today we’re figuring how in the world to fix a circuit breaker that keeps tripping… Tom is so into that video game, it’s kinda insane, I’m gonna have to play it when he’s asleep or something. I don’t know. Anyways, here goes nothing!

She throws open the fuse box.

Rosie: So, the first thing to do is open up your fuse box and take a look insi- what the?

Rosie deliberates, reading the labels for each switch, running her finger down the panel.

Rosie: Just, try all of them!

Flipping all the switches off, the screen goes dark. A kid is heard yelling for her in the background.

Rosie: Oh no, Tom!

The glow of her cell phone is the only thing that lights her face, as we hear the dial tone.

Male Voice: Mr. Electric, how can we help?

Super: Mr. Electric logo, website and phone number. Neighborly logo.

Art of the Roast

This was a project I made in college for a New Media Class for Professional Writing majors. I focused on my friend Kyler from Native Sons Coffee Roasters and his time working as head roaster. This was filmed on a Nikon camera, and edited on Adobe Premier.
